The suggestions you have received above may get round this but what I would do is simply run the Olympus Firmware Updater again, and go straight to the Security & Privacy > General tab, where you should see the option to 'allow' near the bottom of the window. It is quite separate from the long standing setting about installing software from App Store/Anywhere etc.

The option to allow the Olympus Firmware updater would have appeared in the General Tab of Security & Privacy if you had gone there straightaway, but I dont think it stays there indefinitely. This is a new security feature in High Sierra which blocks third party kernel extensions from being installed.

When I close above window and select 'Update Firmware,' How do I allow loading from the Olympus site?Īlso, added info. I don't know the computer Preference Settings all that well, so when go to my Security & Privacy preference, I do not see how to unblock Olympus Corporation (I don't see that it is blocked to begin with). With Olympus Digital Camera Updater enabled, I get the following dialog screen after connecting camera to computer and selecting 'storage' in menu: Trying to update my Old E-M5ii to firmware 4.0 (from 2.1)
